BNP`s Senior Joint Secretary General, Rizvi Ahmed, recently made a statement regarding the demand for local elections before the national elections, calling it a malicious agenda by certain political parties.
Rizvi shared his views on Sunday, February 16, after he, along with BNP leaders and workers from various districts, paid respects at the grave of the party`s founder, Ziaur Rahman.
Speaking to the media, Rizvi stated, “Sheikh Hasina is hiding behind a dangerous plan, and we must quickly hold the national elections to thwart her conspiracy.”
He went on to explain that the nation is eagerly awaiting free, fair, and impartial elections.
Rizvi also claimed that the Yunus government has been stalling the election process.
He further added, “The democracy for which so many lives were sacrificed needs to be brought back, and the government must be given a final deadline to hold elections.”
Rizvi also emphasized the importance of completing necessary reforms swiftly before moving ahead with the polls.
